Do any twin cities vets offer this service?

    Sad. (

I think I have seen it mentioned at either our last vet or our current one, but those are not near you. Lemme ask a buddy.

My vet offered to come to our house. I’m not sure if they normally will do that or if she offered to be nice. It mean’t a lot to me that she offered to do that for me.

This is who I used when I had to put my dog down a few months ago. I thought they were good to work with and would recommend them. Never a fun process to go through, but I thought it was much better at home than at the vet’s office.

Southview Animal Hospital in Inver Grove Heights (Behind the White Castle on Hwy 3/Robert Street). They came to my house out in Rosemount.

We put down our ancient cat at home in November. We didn’t want the cat’s last moments to be traumatic, so we scheduled with this nice lady vet. She came on a Sunday night, was very nice and professional. Highly recommend her.

It is more expensive than taking the animal in, but I think worth it.

Dr. Shawn at Century clinic might be able to help. He’s came to our place for our last three pets.

I am way up north and got a vet from Longville to come out and help us with our 18 year old English Setter. Best decision ever. The dog hated the vet and anything to do with it even though he only went once a year for the basics few other issues. Dog was calm and went to sleep peacefully. Do not care if it was $300.00 still worh it to us and the dog. Good luck finding someone to help you out!!!!

Honest question, does anyone just take care of this themselves still nowadays?

Personally, I would need to be in pretty dire need to perform that deed myself.

Yeah, I couldn’t do it either Ryan unless we were at the cabin and it was due to some kind of terrible accident.

When we had to put down our Border Collie the vet did it outside under some trees, a very nice, private setting.

Sorry to hear Mike, very difficult.

My father raised Irish Setter’s when I was little. I think i was maybe 3yo and I remember seeing him come back inside with his gun and I quickly put two and two together; Jesse was a good dog and was gone. Still makes me sad thinking how sad he was. His last dog, Buffy, he spent nearly 7k at the UMN vet hospital to keep her going.

Yep. One of the hardest things you’ll ever do, yet if you’re able to allow a hunting dog or any dog to meet their end in a spot they loved, it’s also one of the most gratifying things you’ll ever do. It’s tough no matter how it’s done. Personally I don’t want to walk past anywhere in my home and be reminded of a dog’s end, yet there’s time’s that’s unavoidable.

Yup it’s tough but I don’t have the money to pay someone to kill my dog.
