Anybody have a recommendation for a good place to use to get a European mount done? Would be for a boar.

Tia’s Taxidermy in Chaska did this one for me and was the cheapest price I found too.

I just tried doing my own last night on an antelope. Would recommend hiring an expert. Had brains, eyes and other parts sprayed all over the place by the time I was finished. Just a big mess.

Any other recommendations? I left Tia’s Taxidermy 2 messages and I have not heard back from her.

I’d give Lee at Lee’s Taxidermy in Prescott, Wisconsin a call. He’s been in the business for years I don’t think he has a website but his number is 715-262-4004. My boy decided to go with a bronze finish on his deer and it looks really nice. Lee mounted it on a walnut base. He has a poster of various dip coating you can choose from such as camo, barbed wired, etc.

Aaron Heil in Albertville, Mn. Number is 763-228-6714. Pretty quick turn around too!

Billy and I did a deer head ourselves for his uncle last fall. It wasn’t too terrible. Billy thought it smelled pretty bad, but I didn’t think it was unbearable. It “cooked” for a much longer time that we thought and there were parts of the clean up process that one needs a strong stomach for. But other than all that… LOL smirk

I ended up dropping it off at Shawn’s Taxidermy up in Buffalo. Very nice guy, looks like he does good work.

I think some taxidermist outsource this type of work just like some send out hides to be tanned. Good Luck.
