Just purchased 2020 185cs with the new g2 115ho which is way under max hp for the boat. It’s was my price range so it is what it is. Just wondering if anyone has this set up and kind of what to expect. Dealers used for demo show and said no problems popping on plane with 4 250lb guys in the boat. I bought for fishing not racing so top speed not big deal but torque and plane are important. Any insight with this boat and g2 appreciated

No offense, but it seems kind of pointless to ask for opinions after you’ve aready bought it.

Won’t pickup till Monday and we still have 24” of ice on lakes still driving pickups on so won’t be trying out. The g2 115ho just came out last year and is actually 126 hp and from tests I have read it pulls harder and more torque than Yamaha 150 4 stroke. Just looking for some back up to that testing done by iboat. Do u have the new 115 ho that you can give me some info on it?

    Hi,
Great motor I have it on a 175 alumacraft 2017.
Dual overhead cam and specially treated/coated parts enable for inter-coastal water usage. About an xtra $300 2 years ago. You can also get a trolling accessory for it but it will troll down to around 2-2.2 mph on my boat. I also have a kicker used mostly when trolling. Don’t forget the extended warranty which might be free if you ask about it called Y.E.S,(Yamaha extended service). Link below for extended warranty or $500 dealer credit until 3/31/2020. This adds 2 more years. Also, don’t forget about the break in period for running it and the 20 hr break in service.
    Have fun

If you are not worried about speed you should be ok. A buddy has a 115 on an 18 ft Lund. Not real fast, but good enough.
