I’d go custom adjustable just encase. Bob doesn’t have them on his site but if you call him and explane what your looking for he’s sure to have a idea that will suit your needs perfictaly. Contact Bob @(952) 401-8909 or check out the site @ http://www.justencase.com.
I’ll try to get some pics up tonight of my boxes tonight I’ve got lots of 2lbers, giant sues and huge jakes in them.March 30, 2011 at 1:28 pm #952134Im a fan of the lakewood “the extreme” but wish the foot print on it was a little bigger. but other then that its a great box for BIG baits.

Sounds like he can build whatever size you want, I’m working on a extension for my back casting deck with him, sounds like I can just let him know what size I want and he’ll build it.

March 30, 2011 at 10:39 pm #952337thanks for the advice guys i hope bob has what i’m lookin for at the show. these boxes look like much higher quality and more effective/efficient to be able to see your baits. i hate looking for a bait in my big dark plano…i can’t ever find what i’m looking for.
March 30, 2011 at 10:41 pm #952339A Lakewoods Monster holds 10’s with ease, I turned my livewell into cowgirl storage… as far as big big baits I just hang those in my baitwell if I have them along or they hang on the board in the muskie room…
April 3, 2011 at 12:43 pm #953529I would strongly recommend a lakewood tackle box, I have some that I use everyday, standing on them and beating them up for 10 years now and still work great! I would not suggest using a clear box, the heat will cause your plastic baits to start bubbling, and it will start to fade your baits in the sun. Just what I have noticed.
Thanks,
Tanner WildesApril 4, 2011 at 8:45 pm #953981i’m pretty sure they say that they are uv protectant. the musky show is just days away so i’m sure i’ll find out all about the produce but i may be leaning towards a lakewood box…
April 4, 2011 at 9:55 pm #953996I may part with one of my Monsters, one of the older one with the black inside but it’s in pretty good shape yet but no plano box left in it. PM me if your interested I can meet you at the show Sat/Sunday/Swap if you like….About $100 off new…

I know at least a dozen guys with Clear Just Encase boxes and not a single one of them has a problem with plastic bubbling or baits fading. The material they are made of is uv resistant so it’s a non issue. My boxes alone have over 40 dawgs, sues, thunderbeasts, tubes and others that look like the day I bought them other than the ones that have been chewed on and my boat sits outside with the boxes in it all summer long. I got rid of my lakewoods monster when the dividers started to breakaway from the outside of the box and the zippers didn’t zip but either way having your baits in a box weather it be in a Just Encase lakewoods or something you made yourself is better than laying on the bottom of your rig.

I know a few guys who have had heat problems damaging lures inside their Just Encase boxes…I asked Bob about it at the Chicago Show and he acknowledged that it’s occurred. He now offers to drill larger air holes to provide some air flow as well as an option to apply a semi-transparent tinted sheet to the top or sides of the box.
