Hey everyone wonder if you guys can give me a rough weight on this muskie, I had him out of the water long enough and didn’t want to take the time to weigh him. He’s 42″ long. just looking for a rough estimate.
    Thanks in advance ,

    Great Muskie Chris,
I’d say 22-25 depending on girth.
    Awesome fish

I’m no pro, but I’ll throw a guess out there. He or she is pretty stocky, I would say around 17-20 pounds.
Great catch, must have been an awesome fight!

I was also going to throw out the 18 – 20 lbs range. Nice fish.

Nice river ski. I’d say 25lbs give or take a lb or 2.

    Take care!

    Muskiechasher,

What boat were you in? That’s the first one I’ve ever caught down there. I just assumed it was a rare occurrance. I seem to have the best luck muskie fishing with the blind squirell method.

As for the handling, I thought it was a cat or sturgen so I wasn’t too worried about breaking the line, no big loss to me. I just wanted to keep him out of the anchors. Wish they still made that line it’s some strong stuff.
