I caught this little fella on a metro lake last night. I’ve never seen a pike like this before–all gray and devoid of markings. From the research I’ve done, it appears to be a silver pike!

That is cool looking pike. Was it slimy like a regular pike? Nice catch

There’s a nice lifelister. You caught something most people will never boat in a lifetime of fishing. Congrats!

fascinating fish… have heard of several coming out of Spirit Lake (IGL)…and a couple years ago, while down there, they had one in the hatchery aquarium…

have heard that silver pike tend to have slightly more ‘bug-eyed’ appearance than ‘normal’ northerns…

…kind of like Marty Feldman eyes…

    great catch and photos…

With a rare catch like that and if you are in mine to have a fish mounted you could have one carved out of wood. It would like good with other mounts with a good story behind it. Nice catch.

Your right the IGL’s has a pretty good silver population, we boat several every year up to 36″ or so……
