POST LIKE THIS MAKE ME SICK!!!!
You guys better not ever keep a fish. Can’t you be happy for the guy. It’s a 50+ inch fish…..that is a trophy and worthy for the wall for anybody, and to make a statement that he isn’t a real fisherman because he’s fishing out of a pontoon. I think everyone here deserves an apology for that statement.

    Whatsa

    yes…a 50 inch fish is a real trophy…

I caught a 47″ northern once…took the photos…let it go…knew that cost wise, there was little difference between ‘the real deal’ and a graphite replica…

with the measurements and the photos in hand…I got my price quotes…at which time I decided I really really liked my photos and that would be ‘enough’…

My son and I shared the catch and the memories…and that’s enough…

Not sure why folks feel a wall mount is a ‘must do’?

Because nothing shows a fish better than a mount.

Pictures?..ya mean like them crappies that look 36″ long or that walleye that streches from some guys head to his knees??

    To each their own.

I wouldn’t mind having replicates on my wall. Sometimes it is nice to have a physical reference to bring back memories of how big a fish was.

personally I feel its more rewarding to see the fish swim away healthy. catching is half the battle and making a quick, ethical, and safe release is the fun part! knowing you won the battle and it can be done another day! many of these fish are caught several times a year

Yep! Many of these 50″+ fish are caught several times a year, probably at least once a month on heavily fished waters…a couple times a week is not uncommon either. To legally keep one is your personal choice, but remember you are taking memories away from the next lucky angler who will potentially catch that fish another day. Releasing a fish is only providing more memories for the next angler…not to mention the fish will continue to grow. 50 inches is really not all that rare anymore based on the fact that catch and release is practiced by every ethical good muskie fisherman. 53″ is the new 50″…that is until people feel the need to kill one. Catch and release allows a fish to grow to its maximum size…a fish at 50″ is far from its maximum growth.
