That picture is making the rounds on the muskie boards, and it is one nice fish, congrats to the guy who caught it…

Congrats to that guy. That’s awesome.

Sucks about the fish. I would be at a loss about what to do with it.

I would never put a flesh mount on the wall over a replica mount. I suppose you could steak it out and smoke the meat.

    OMG NICE FISH!

I was fishing with my wife the other day and gut-hooked a trophy fish too. It was a legal keep, and the fillets are gorgeous, but I still get a bit of a twinge over it. Still, the fish are there for us, and as long as they don’t go to waste there’s no reason to regret keeping one if it won’t survive the release.

    Way to go, man!

Yup that would suck, but I do wonder how it would taste with a little lemon butter, or even pickled possibly

Dude, with a 40#+ fish you could try about any recipe you could find and still have fish left over for the late-summer fish fry!

    …awsome trophy…

pictures are worth a thousand words… mounts collect dust…mine do anyway…their stuffed in a closet…right next to a bag of beanie babies… until I build a bigger room… so she says now… am I babbling again?
