My brother had a good day for the tourney. I found some active fish on Tuesday and left the lake alone hoping these fish would still be there, and they were! We saw a total of 7 fish for the day and these 2 ate. A 40 and 41. Unfortunately alot of boats also had steller days and was able to end up with a 7th place finish with a small double.

Nicely done! We fished the Croix for the tournament. Moved quite a few fish but couldn’t get anything to eat. The surprising upside was there was nobody out there. Saw maybe 6 boats fishing Muskies the entire day.

Nice fish! Too bad the other guys in the boat couldn’t get a couple.

Wow. 4 – 50 inchers and 2 – 49.5 inchers. Those results are sure to take some pressure from the muskies on the Croix.

It is my home water as well. But I was out there last night and there was only 6-7 boats out. The weekends might get a little crazier but midweek might be fine.

I think the pressure is giong to be unreal out there this summer I was out there on Sunday night fishing one of my little hole in the wall spots when I look over and see a guy in a big ranger creeping 20ft away from me (I wear my iPod when I’m hucking I can’t hear boats) the guy hits enter enter and takes off
But I think that after a while it’ll die down if ppl are looking for suicide 50″ers this isn’t that lake. Conditions were perfict for a trolling bite and the fish showed up. Will we have to deal with a bunch of score board chasers? Yes. Will it effect good fisherman? Not if you can adapt to the perssure

There was an article in the Pioneer Press this morning about the tourny results and how 8 of the top ten finishers were from Waconia.

I actually like following these types of tournies, but when the spot lite gets put on your home waters (Croix last fall), there are definitely some negatives that come with them.

The reality is that the guys that didn’t already know how good the fishing was on Waconia and fish it because of the tourney results, probably won’t continue to fish it when the 50 incher doesn’t jump in the boat after 4 hours.
