Went to the Milwaukee musky show last weekend. It was similar to the St. Paul show, but they had a “casting pool” to check out some new lures in action. I bought a new low cost extra-heavy rod from Muskie Innovations for throwing big dawgs, and also picked up 2 of the smaller clear lexan tackle boxes from Just Encase from Minnetonka. These look like they will be great – they allow you to see all the lures in the box instead of what I currently have which is a big box that is dark and not real user friendly. They have been at the show for several years but I couldn’t pull the trigger until now. Also bought a nice big Suzy Sucker at the swap meet, more as a joke but for $3 I couldn’t pass it up. Free beer at the swap meet was a big plus 
, and all the money raised went to soldiers coming back from the war to go on a musky trip, so all money spent on raffle tix is going to a great cause. All in all it was a nice show, and was a good winter break. One thing they don’t have at this show is any big sporting goods store like Reeds showing all their products.
Just thought I’d get people worked up for the open water season…see you at the St. Paul show.
