I got on the water Friday, very late in the afternoon. The weather looked awesome for a night of huckin. We had a west wind, moon rise, and some on and off again rain. About 20 minutes into fishing we were looking at an amazing rainbow, which soon turned into a double, it looked awesome. My phone rang and it was Ido’er Jeff Jensen. As I am talking with him about an upcomming fishing trip, I have a fish bulging up on my bait. As soon as I saw the fish, I started to speed up my bucktail, at the same time, giving Jeff a play by play. The fish comes up, almost out of the water, I drop my phone on the bottom of the boat, and get ready to drive the hooks home. The fish takes a stab at the bait and totally misses. At this point I am all the way back to the boat with my bait. I started to stir the pot, with hopes that this fish was going to show up and eat at boat side. After going around a number of times and no fish, I gave up and picked up my phone, Jeff was still there!
Sorry, no photos, but it’s a great start for what will come in the next few weeks. Can’t wait to see ya again Buddy

Exciting story and I know you will visit her again. Feeling the temp and the wind rolling the coolness into the water is giving all of us the itch to wack on some fish.

Can’t wait to see some pics of pigs from you this fall!

Now that was the closest to being a mouse in the corner than I’ve ever been. Bob just gets done giving the low down on conditions, double rainbow etc. when I hear “WHOA, there’s one…….she’s hot”!

That is a cool story. I always question if I should pick up my phone when I am muskie fishing for that exact reason. I was out for 5 hours on Sat. morning with not even a follow to show for it. The fog was very cool however, I should have taken a picture of that, I sure didn’t have any fish to take a picture of. I don’t know if it was pre-fishing for this coming weekend’s tournament or what, but I have never seen so many boats out on this metro lake in my life chucking muskie lures. We didn’t get on the water until 8:00ish, but there were alreay 30+ boats on the lake and at least one on all of my normal spots. Oh well, at least it forced me to expolore some new areas
