Before this gets out of hand, I put this thread up for one reason, to find out if the fish existed. I found out early in the rumor stage. Information came out thanks to Jon Jordan’s research and the rumor turned into story, not myth.

I thank both Dan and 56 for the time and effort it took to try to proves its length. What really matters to me was that a really large fish was caught, verified to some degree of its existence/location and RELEASED!!! If the dudes had captured and killed it for record, I personally would have no problem with proof being put forth of its length. Of course, the measuring process would be under scrutiny of the record gods. But it wasn’t and again in the end it is a very nice fish that was RELEASED whether is was 55″ or 61″.

I am sure the Musky Hunter Boards are doing enough hammering that we don’t need to get into it here. If you guys want to agree to disagree, that is fine. But the reason why I love this fishing board is because while those conversations (agree to disagree) occur, they are much more mild mannered and we still believe in one another in the end!!! My .02 cents!!! Have a great day, fish safe and CPR a pig!!!

But then there would have been a selected panel to review how the dead-stuffed fish was stretched and it wouldn’t be real by the nay-sayers anyways….
It is sad that whenever there is a big fish caught, everyone automatically believes it isn’t true, no matter the proof.

Hey guys! Well I haven’t been on here for a long time, but I see this site seems to be run with a little more class than the other one I’ve been on. Anyways thanks all for keeping the forum clean. I thought since most people are still in the dark about this fish, I’d share a little more. The fish is currently being done my Lax Taxidermy and I am stoked to see the fish again. Everything happened so fast, it was hard to really appreciate it as it was taking place.

Here are two of the pictures taken by Josh. I do have one more with the full length of the fish that I haven’t shared yet. I noticed someone was doing all these measurements to try to find out the size. In the picture with the full fish, you can also see the “L” on my sweatshirt which is 9″ tall. Using this it took me seven “L”s to make the length of the fish, which I did over and over again the day after I caught the fish, still trying to believe the measurements. I look forward to sharing that picture sometime soon. The fish was held very close to my body, especially because of its size, and in the full picture that is also very evident.

Thanks for coming on to tell the story. Congrats are in order on what amounts to a once in many life times catch. Should you find some time please stop back in and post up those other pics. I’m pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say we’d all like to see them as that is one incredible muskie. Again, congrats.

That fish is definatley something to be proud of. Congrats.

If I were you, I think I would be camping out in Lax’s shop watching them make the replica.

My guess is there is a big R and L behind the fish. The L up at the top of his sweat shirt (part of the word Lake) isn’t 9 inches long. If it were, the fish would be 20 feet long.
