My co-worker’s brother just got a 47.5″ pike on a little Wi lake. Don’t know a lot of details other than it was released. Will post pics if I get permission as soon as they come through. By my calcs, this is close to a 30lb fish. Come fall, it could be pushing the WI state record.

I had friends get a 48” through the ice in lake michigan off washington island (80 miles NE of Greenbay). They also released that fish and took girth measurements that put the fish slightly over 30 lbs.

Wish I could post a pic of it but don’t have an electronic copy. It is a total bruiser though and the picture is in the mens bathroom at Nelson’s Hall on Washington Island. Gives a good excuse to go in for a cold one if you’re ever fishing in the area

Holy cats that’s big. Esp. if it came out of some small little no-name lake in WI, that’s an incredible trophy! Congrats to him!

I actually caught that fish last year in Lynxville on a hair jig and 6 pound fireline. The guy holding it is my brother. I hate how he always gets all the attention for my fish!

Has it been determined that the set of photos with this fish in it are fake?

You know what bugs me. Is that you can find all kinds of pictures of big fish, but the true stories about them are hard to find.

No digital camera. Only a disposable. I’ll post up the pics once they are brought into the office so I can scan.

Yup. Sure is. Photos have to be developed from film, remember the old days. They then have to be entrusted to a family member to bring to the office.

The guy ended up getting two musky from this lake last week too I guess. All on Mepps bucktails. To this point, the locals didn’t even know musky were in there. Sounds like I need to visit this cabin….

Dude it has been two weeks. Are they printing on stone with a hammer and chisel like they did on the Flintstones?

My request to see the pictures continue to be denied due to lots of excuses. I’m guessing this is becoming a fish tale.

Well, well, well. I finally saw pics of the infamous 47.5″ pike. It was the smallest 47.5 I’ve ever seen. Probably a lot more like 36. The guy was also holding a nice 4lb bass he said was 10lbs. You gotta love fisherman. Bunch of liars and yet we continue to be optimistic and want to believe each other.
