    Hey guys

I’m gonna be visiting my wife’s uncle for a few days, and he lives on Yellow Lake in Webster, WI

I know this lake has some nice Muskies in it, but I’m clueless as to where to start

I’m not looking for exact GPS coordinates, ( but it would be nice J/k ) but I’d appreciate some advice as to where to start, bait selection, colors, etc…

I have yet to put a fish in the boat this year so, hopefully I can do it when I’m up there

Any info would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Joe,
I’ve fished Yellow quite a few times for walleyes. I’ve only fished it a couple time for muskies. If I were to choose 1 place on the lake to fish, it would be the south east side of the lake. There is a big point that sticks out and it is very weedy. I believe the Yellow river exits right by this point too. Its a huge point and you could spend several hours fishing it. My second spot would be in front of the Yellow Lake lodge. If you don’t have any action, you can always grab a cold one.

One of my favorite lakes. There is a huge bay by the launch that if you get there early you’ll see schools suckers getting hammered at the surface. If you see that going on. Walk the dog sucker patterns are hot. You can cast the weedline but we’ve always done best pulling big cranks for suspended fish in 25-30 feet of water. You’ll see them plain as day on the locator. Two biggest fish to my boat have come from the suspended approach. 2.5 MPH on the troll. I run two boards two long lines and one in the wash.

    plungepool,
when you heading up there, i have a camper at one of the resorts on yellow and fish it a lot. the piont BZZSAW is talking about is were the yellow river comes in to the lake and it’s more of a BIG flat with good weeds and deep water near by. there’s also a couple of rock piles on the south side of the lake that can produce muskies, if i remember to bring my GPS to work tomorrow i can shoot you some coordinates as to were the rocks are. other wise you can fish the weed line just about anywhere on the lake. a cheap lake map will help alot also.

Well guys, no muskies for me on this trip

I did manage a small pike though.

I learned alot, and I know I’ll have alot more confidence when I fish it again

Thanks alot for all the helpful info

    Plunge:

Sorry that I didn’t get back to you, just been incredibly busy the last week.
