I WAS OVER WITH A NEW FISHING BUDDY FISHING FOR BASS AT ONE OF KENTUCKY’S MANY SMALL STATE PARK LAKES( MIDDLE OF LAST WEEK)…AND HE LIVES ON CAVE RUN AND SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN THE LARGE MUSKY BITE SO STEADILY AND AGRESSIVELY IN HIS LIFE. He said bass fishing was nearly impossible because you lost so much tackle even with a leader or 60lb braid. Apparently almost all the fish are around the lumber and everything, (bass tackle) was wearing through sooner or later.

For those of you that have pulled 7-10 lb walleye out of the trees in Dakotas. He said the monsters,( 20 to 30lbers), are being caught the same way right now…with a little upgrade in equipment to a very heavy pole, 90lb line test O stretch with over hundred lb leader. Doodling whatever your choice was in the trees. Like Devil’s Lake and walleye…once they bite you have one chance to reap them towards the boat or you lose them in the trees . I asked him to post any new reports here so time will tell.
