I was thinking about going northern fishing saturday for opener. I will be on one of my local lakes in the Eagan area. I know the lake has good population of northerns. But i have only fish from the dock in about 20fow. I was thinking about renting a canoe and fishing in about 20-50FOW. It has weeds in the whole lake even down it the 30-50. So i was wondering should i fish in that water or stick to shallower waters? I will be slip bobbering with suckers on a circle hook. Also would lake trout bite on the sucker minnow? I know that they are there the dnr have been stocking them for years. Thanks much it might have been a stupid question but i really wasn’t sure.
