I was mounting reels and deciding what rod gets what reel tonight, realised I had 2 new rods I had never casted yet Loomis was the only one with line so out back to chase a few snow muskies…… no takers.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who does that. I was fortunate enough to catch a sno-cat one time!!!!

If they only really understood a true hearted fishermans mind, they would show sympothy and not look for a straight jacket for us.

I understamd you, every time I build a new rod I have go out to the back yard and play

What timing!! Although I wasn’t casting in my back yard… tonight I also was putting rods and reels together, however this was in my living room. Once I had a couple put together my boys took over and started acting as though they had hooked into the Big One. Then the wife walked in… First thing out of her mouth “you guys are nuts”. After a brief and pointless explanation of how we need to be ready and springs just around the corner, etc I clicked on your post and felt redemption. I pointed it out to her and commented that me and the boys weren’t the only ones feeling the need but she just put you in the nuts category along with us.

It’s a tough argument claiming your sanity especially when you don’t have the papers to prove it.

    All the best

Fly casting practice is also a good snowtime activity. The snowgills are not easy to catch! Great photo -captures all of our frustration with a long winter.

You should’a pulled the cover off the boat so you could practice those figure 8’s from the rig

Thats the name of my ice shack trailer, came about when I downsized trucks and shack didnt fit in the new one. Found a cheap trailer frame took the wood I had saved from my old water bed, couple hinges, couple locks and a few hours time I created said enclose trailer for my ice gear and my buddies called it my hillbilly traier. Its evolved into The Hillbilly Delux now

Maybe I watch to much Red Green.
