To echo some of the frustrated musky posters this summer, we actually had a fish blast a topwater at the boat last night. It took Dodge Boy’s Topper Stopper, he felt weight, set the hook, never got the hooks home… Imagine that. That was the first ski at the boat for me this year and blowing up that topwater 6′ from the boat was a good as it gets even if we came up empty. Tried to take some pics last night as we got some slimers and a couple of largies as well, but the batteries were dead.

Oh well great night to be on the water, last night of the new moon phase and front coming through!!!

Thats what I love about muskie fishing! You can go days without seeing a fish then something like this happens and your stoked for a couple more outings. Just like bowhunting….. You can go a couple days without seeing a buck then you’ll see one a pig out of range and your mentally back in the game!!

I hear ya! I haven’t had a lot of time on the water this year so it seems like it’s taken forever to get some results! I do think the changes of this week are going to help turn the “cooler” fish on and begin that fall transition process…………. that always = FEEDBAG!!!!
