Hey! Does anyone here use 9ft rods for big heavy baits? I am trying to decide between an 8’6ft rod and a 9ft rod? The thing that i am worried about is that the 9ft being so long might become end heavy with a big bait on it and maybe more fatiguing. Thanks for any info!

I have been thinking of getting one for trolling (muskies)….to get the lure out further without having to use a planner board. a 9 footer is just so awkward to have in the boat and Im not sure a 2 piece would hold up. I bet the first 25lber would make it into a 3 piece

8’6″ is a lot easier to store and use. the nine will get the bait out a little further, but worth the extra hassel.

I have a 8 ft HMG that my parners think is deadly weapon swhish. 8 6 is plenty of rod. i think iam a little slow on the trigger when useing the 8 fter cold be just getting older. i grab a 7 7.6 most times.
