Those B-Fish-N blades work great for trolling for walleyes too. Just don’t tell them I said that.
    Thanks, Bill

How do you define what is, and isn’t a keeper?

Any Fish Species that is in the legal limits of the law. This fish happed to have some battle scars and was belly up and could not be revived. The father/son combo haappened to call me and explain the situation asking for help…there was nothing left to do but bring this one to the table…

Am I reading into your post that there is a conservation issue here? If so I should have explained the situation before hand as I didn’t think they would be getting slammed here on IDA

If I read somthing into your post that wasn’t there,my appoligies

Nothing wrong at all keeping a pike or two for the table! Quite tasty critters, aren’t they!

    Gary,

Harpers Ferry Ia near lock and dam #9 . Pools 9 and 10 are a great fishery for the toothy critters…I don’t get out as much anymore but this fella has caught and released a lot of these fish…he keeps some for the table too…He mentioned that they have really come back since the back water habitat is on somewhat of a comeback…

The Pike on lake Pepin are on an absolute feeding frenzy right now!! Last week we boat 6 pike at 8 pounds and bigger! With one spitting the lure at the boat at 9 feet back hitting our shad rap as we netted an eye have a feeling she was after a different meal . That fish would have easily pushed 15 pounds EASY! They sure are in love with the bleeding shad #5 shad raps

There is something very good about a good pike fry. Just a sweeter eat’in fish. Unless otherwise posted, my own slot is 22 to 27 inches.

I remember my Dad and I would go up to Grandpa’s cabin and the first night we were there, grandma would always have northern pike, fried in cracker crumbs with all the trimmings for us….

    nothing better
