I mentioned on Birddogs Muskie tools post that I got a hook buried in my finger last summer. After that, I got a pair of these gloves as a gift. Has anyone used these or something comparable? I don’t like the idea of having to take the time to put them on after getting the fish in the net. Additionally, they won’t offer protection on anything other than your hands. That being said, does anyone else use these? Have you heard of anyone still getting stuck when using these? Thanks.

Been using them for three years. Great grip for in the water release and I haven’t had anything punch thru yet – teeth or hooks. They also slip on and off very quickly when wet. Good tool to have.

I have a pair and they are not too bad, although I have not used them much either. Usually use them when handling fish only, and only if they are hooked bad. My brother says they are pretty sharp resistant. They look better than most I’ve seen on the market, doesnt’ hurt to give them a try. Although they are a tad spendy.

I have a pair and like them, especially for handling fish. I also use them when I am filleting too to get a better grip. I have been told you could lip a northern but I wont try that, but haven’t had a hook or knife tip puncture through yet.

I picked up a pair of musky armor gloves this last off season. I have not used them yet, but they are sure nice if you are looking for another option.

Theres a pair in my boat to, I have had to use them to land a 42″ once I lipped it without incident. Not saying they should be used for this just didnt have a big net along that day since we were fishing eyes.

Seeing as I am not much of a muskie fisherman or at least I am still waiting for someone to hook me up with one , the glove came in useful last weekend trolling for walleyes on Red Lake. As I was reaching into the net to get the crank bait out, the pike decided to start thrashing around. I paused and I thought to myself this seems like a good time to put the $25 lindy glove on. It worked great for both gripping the pike and getting the crank bait out. I should probably point out that my fiancé actually caught this fish and it was her largest fish to date. She was afraid to hold it. She was so excited that she finally agreed that is would be a good idea to spend the money and get some muskie gear.

I also believe I saw a fishing show where Ted Takasaki was lipping walleyes with the glove on.

The Lindy gloves are hook proof, but are a little on the stiff side. I bought the Musky Armor gloves and they are the cats meow. Not as hook proof as the Lindy gloves, but are very nice. Either choice is excellent.
