Nice fish Rj! Where did you catch those fish at? They don’t look like Mille Lacs fish, but in the background it looks like you were fishing a pretty big body of water.

If this keeps up, I might have to teach mrfritz how to compress his own freaking pictures.. or start charging him to compress them. I didn’t get many details on this fish other than 48 inches – trolling somewhere on the Croix. He said it was a heavier fish than the 49 incher. Congrats again.

I think I know that background….. ………. and I have record of 50″ fish being caught on the Croix this year. EXACTLY why I’ve been wanting to get out there in this wet weather! Low to no competition and cruisers to a minimum.

And you told me you caught them both on a darn Cow Girl..

Anyone wanna buy $100.00 worth of Cow Girls? Or maybe we could trade for some 5 of diamonds.

You’ve got ski’s on the ‘Lieu???? I know the lake is unpredictable because of flood seceptibility but usually the rarities don’t fare well and disappear within a season or two.

The lake is managed as a bass fishery with a few pike mixed in the picture but I had a warden tell me a few years back that they didn’t want muskies getting established in there. So……… I’m wondering if they’re beginning to establish themselves or if you’ve just got the greatest luck in the world!

Personally, the thought of muskies establishing in there appeals to me. It would help build a better panfishery and improve bass quality too.

If it’s not too much to ask, would you mind pm’ing me about your encounters there? There’s been 40″ class pike in there and I know where they tend to appear (though I have a hard time getting them to play along!) but I’m curious to know if there’s similarities between the ski’s and pike patterns.

If you could turn the ‘Lieu into a decent muskie fishery, that place would simply ROCK!!! It’s so easy to cover a lot of water there and with no motor trolling allowed, the action would always be exciting!!!

It was 50″ but we didn’t have a way to measure the girth. It was definately a thick fish. He caught it on a Cowgirl.

    Later,
