Have any of you ever fished it for muskies. Is it a worthwhile trip? I would assume there aren’t a ton o’ fish but there has to be some real tankers in there with the forage base. What’s the word?

I know two IDA guys that have hit it once or twice and have done quite well! I’m sure they will chime in once they see this!

    Oh my… where to begin!

I fished it for the first time two summers ago with Steve Vick. Average size was awesome as were numbers. Long story short my first trip there, actually my first day there, I stuck 3 legal muskies and a 40+” pike off of one shallow, current-swept point in less than 20 minutes. It was nutz. I believe it was mid-august and the weather had been hot and stable. The fish were all over top waters fished aggressively.

I’d go back in an instant.

I fish it often and should let you know if you head to the Lou be very careful of hazards if you’re on the upper river. Water levels are lower than last year and last year was low…$2500 in motor repairs low and I know my way around there fairly well. Bring a jon boat or if you’re in a big boat fish south of Boy Scout. Might want to try trolling the lower river near the bay….intimidating for sure but I’ve heard rumors.
