I have been looking through some old fishing pictures and ran across my biggest and first musky and getthe itch to have a replica made. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good place to have one done? Not many places in my area have done musky mounts and I would rather have it done by a place that has more experience with them.

Best include these guys in your search. They were pioneers in the replica game. Fastest turn around in the game and always perfect finished product. I have had least 50 clients do their musky replica’s here without fail over the years. Ask for Mike.

I know this is the trend. At the Cabelas near Ann Arbor they have very nice replica mounts of record pike and Lake trout and some others. Obviously they were not in a position to mount the real fish, but the mounts of records they do have are impressive and realistic. All you require are some good measurements and photos. Seen fisheries ruined due to people taking out the big ones, which are often needed for a strong gene pool. I’ve but them back pike > 40″. Not that I catch them that often.

Scott Miller out of Prescott WI does a nice job. Also artistic anglers from Duluth.

Go to the upcoming Muskie Expo in April. There will be a few excellent choices

I was going to suggest that as well, might even save a little!

I have seen quite a few from Lax and been really impressed, and he has done a lot to help our local Muskies Inc chapters, which is much appreciated.

X 3 I was able to compare a few of the best known taxidermists for making muskie replicas there. They ussually have a discount during the show. I got mine done by Rick Lax.
