Has anybody read this book by Jack Penny? Just got it and am getting ready to get started. My guess is it will have the same basic information as most Pike books and articles. But, reading is good.

Does it tell you how not to catch pike? It would be worth the price if they told you how to not get a brand new 8$ stick bait shredded off your line.

Haven’t read that particular book but just picked up another walleye one off craigslist today, and the way I figure it is even if through the entire book it will only give me 1 or 2 things that are new, it was well worth it. Enjoy the read.

Haven’t tried it, but a buddy uses that clear surgical tubing just large enough to slide his line though a 6-8″ section of it.
It’ll slide down to the lure/bait as you use it.Says he doesn’t lose much action with it and it’s harder for them toothy critters to bite through.
Sounds like it may work.
