Yes chirp it was on lake vermilion! I have spent a lot of time on that lake the past few seasons and it has paid me back big time.

BTW…. This fish was caught on my secret bait

…no way! did you really catch her on a dawg ball? I’ve had plenty of follows and even had them smack it but never caught one before.

Nice fish buddy! that sure is a dandy. Good things happen after you get punished with boat repairs.

Hey Chirp, a dogball is when your bulldawg gets tangled (usually with the leader) on the cast. You go to tighten up your line and it feels like you’re pulling a drift sock through the water.

If you’ve had this happen a few thousand times (like me) you a. learn to cast so the dawg doesn’t rotate at all in the air… or b. learn to untangle them by maneuvering your rod about before you have to reel one of these wrist burners in!

ps. They’re extra fun with pounders

or thumb down the end of the cast to get the line to straighten out, before it spins down to the water…

You can somewhat prevent the “dawgball” but it still happens.
I’ve always wondered if they’d hit it since it looks similar to a walleye fisherman reeling in a walleye, And they get hit by skis.

    Nice ski AJ!
