Just want to see how others are doing on White Bear Lake. I’ve been out there 3 times in the last couple weeks…nary a follow. I’m seeing a fair amount of guys out there chuckin’ giant lures, anyone having any luck? I realize it’s been clear and hot, which probably isn’t helping. I was on the lake by 6-7am a couple days including this morning. Water temp today was anywhere from about 73 to 75.
I did see a 46-48 incher hanging out by the boat launch last week. She ignored a few different offerings, then I thought it best to leave her alone.
Also (non muskie question) I’m marking fish everywhere down about 30 feet, what do you think they most likely are, walleye?
P.S….I have a blue/white Starcraft, if you see me come show me what I’m doing wrong!!

There around but not quite into there early fall pattern yet so at least for me they seem a bit scattered. Water clarity is not very good and still high water temp is not helping.

Know nothing about Muskies, but walleye hang deep in that lake (very clear), so the fish you are graphing are likely them.

It’s been a little tough with the conditions lately but we still were able to boat some nice fish earlier this week before my boat had to go into the shop for a new fuel pump.

Got a nice 45″ on Monday and my client John got a good one on Tuesday. I’ve been on dry land for the most part since Tuesday…

If your marking real dense fish at 20′ and below, it most likely is the thermocline. Real defined this year. Fish were hanging just above it for a while when the water was real hot. They started to move shallow but have been scattered lately because of the warming trends. I’m sure today coulda been good out there, but the reports I got from people who’s boats actually worked today…. said it was still kinda slow.

Give me a buzz if you have more questions or are looking to get out there…

Tough again tonight. Never even seen a tail. Water was 76-75.5 Thursday and 74.5-74.2 today.

Cooler nights are helping a little bit. Still boatless, but I fished out of a buddies boat this morning out there and got a 40 and 42.

Boat should be ready on Monday, just in time for the summery weather again…
