It is no secret that muskies and the moon are the best of friends, but… What about higher activity during Solar Storms??? Highly charged particles skewing the magnetic fields of the earth, does Ma Nature’s kids feel it?

I will be on Mille Lacs hucking this weekend, and call me flabbergasted if something comes of the possible coincidence!

I don’t know about Muskies, but for us Ham radio guys this is going to make for a quiet weekend. We bounce our radio signals off a layer of the atmosphere that’s 250 miles up (“skip”) but when the sun pukes on us like it will tomorrow the skip layer turns into a big sponge. You don’t hear anything and nobody hears you. Time to go fishing

This might make for some good Northen Lights too.

A significant event located on the Sun facing Earth took place on July
    12. The effects of this event will begin to reach Earth early on the
    14th of July GMT.
Observers in North America should watch for aurora on the nights of
the 14th and 15th local time. Depending on the configuration of the
disturbance, auroras may be visible as far south as the middle tier of
    states.
Activity may remain high also on the 16th. Auroras should be
visible Southern New Zealand, Tasmania, and of course, Antarctica

Never saw a musky. Had 1 smallmouth try to eat a Pacemaker at dark over on Brown’s. Fished Cedar on Sunday, once again blanked. On the bright side I probably sweated off 10 pounds… Had about enough of summer.

Yeah, I hate to speak to soon, but bring on the cooler weather of fall, and the bite that goes along with it
