Picked this up at the auction this weekend. I’ve seen the cheaper ones and wasn’t impressed with them. I’d never seen them like this before. It is the gray thing laying down. Anyone used this style before? Do they work very well? It is very heavy duty. Can’t wait to give it a try.

I have a heavy steel one that I use for northerns when tip up fishing. Works great, really gives you good leveredge to get the hooks out.

You can’t tell by the picture, but this is a very heavy metal/steel one. Almost like an angle iron type of material. It seems like it is heavy duty enough to battle the toothy ones.

Work great for boat side releases. Carry one at both ends of the boat. Be careful you will bend a lot of hooks if not careful.

Those work fantastic for taking small hooks out of pike/musky. For big hooks I am partial to channel locks or heavy duty 9″ needlenose.
