I catch a lot of them on the sip using big inline spinners. #5-#7 usually work good, I get a lot of big bass on them also which is fun. White/glow blade on dark days, gold blade on sunny days has always worked best for me.

Black/orange and black/red spinnerbaits seem to attract a lot of big northerns for me. Chartreuse and white seems to have its days too. Another way I seem to find them hanging on my line is when I tie on a new, 8 right out of the box skitter pop and no leader.

Like Tom said…..black and orange have been key most of the time but chartruse and white are also dynamite! Bucktails and spinners will pick up when the water warms to 60 or so…..same with the spoon bite.

Right now we have been having bites on gliders or any way you want to rig a big twister tail.

For gliders i’m using phantoms, mantas, and glidin raps. this is what the BIG fish seem to be liking to at least take a crack at.

Musky innovations chatter bait has been another hot bait this year so far. If you don’t know about chatter baits, you should check them out. Kind of in between a spinner and jig. PRETTY NEAT!

Maybe try some rubber swim baits as well. I don’t fish enough of them but they are killer in this colder water with the thumper or paddletail style. I believe storm has a decent line up of these baits.

Sexy shad is one of the best colors all around. Love that color in most of my top waters anywhere I go!

Good luck fishing for those giant Jacks! Look for weed pockets/turns and baitfish. Some spots we fished were awesome and others that looked the exact same type of cover and showed nothing. Sand points have produced as well on sunny days

I made a good contact last weekend with a pro bass angler and he is from LaCrosse and he told me he can put me on some gators.

Tom Monsoor, a professional bass angler

    Really looking forward to it.

I use a # 11 or 13 floating rapala in firetiger or perch.
    Good Luck

In my experiences big pike like plastics. Like AJ mentioned, the hollow belly swimbaits are pretty awesome. Berkley makes some good ones.

I like all that has been mentioned.. I use spinnerbaits and smaller jerk baits a lot such as the rapala glider.. I also like the baby series of cranks from joe bucher the pike cannot get enough of them.. I like covering a lot of water so for me smaller bucktails such as a bucher tail 700 or baby girl from musky mayham see a lot of time.. every lure has a time and a place.. you cannot go wrong with anything that has been mentioned..
