I slipped out the door tonight with my Dad hoping to find something to stretch my line. Although I only found one fish willing to accommodate my needs it was well worth the trip!
This gal was 36.5″+ of pure angry. It peeled line off my Morrum baitcaster like it was hooked to the back an 18 wheeler. Things got real tense when she found the only piece of isolated structure and tried to tie a Cat’s Cradle with my line through the lone piece of willow. Once we were able to unwind my line from the willow the fight was back on and a few moments later this beauty Pike was laying in the bottom of our net.
We found a few other Pike in the spot we were fishing, but none were fully committed to making a trip boat side. With some luck and a little help from the weatherman we’ll be hitting this spot again this weekend.
For those interested, this Pike was caught on a Brovarney Swim Jig in the Gil pattern. This swim jig has been a hot one for me when I’m able to get out on the water.
Good luck fishing!
