made it up to lake vermilion and lets just say it didn’t dissapoint me at all! we boated 11 fish between our 3 boat convoy with a 56.25,54.5,53,48,46.5,45,44,42,40,38and a 30.5! lets just say that the 56.25 had a girth or 24.25 and boy was she a tank! prolly shoulda weighed her as i’m almost positive it weighed in the 50lb range! fish were mostly found on weed edges with bucktails in natural colors. small bucktails in the day and big slow blades at night. double 13blades worked great after dark all week! some fish were spotted on rocks but none of them bit our baits! we were seeing fish in the rocks but catching fish in the weeds!! the key was to find bait fish either visually or on your graph on the outside edge or look for loons and eagles feeding and then we knew bait was near! gliders was the other bait that produced a few strikes but no hookups….uncoordinated fish! also most of the big fish came right on the moon phase time or in the darkness and the smaller fish took over those spots in the daytime only to get kicked out by old chubby bunny when prime time came! all in all it was a good trip and maybe the best of my life! i will be putting up a few pics of my fish but will have to wait for pics 2 get sent of the 56.25,54.5, and 53 as none of them are on my camera. thanks for reading guys and if u want some private info i’d be glad to share with some of u. keep in touch and stay safe on the water-A.J.
