I went out fishing after work last night with my friend Tim as my copilot. We hit up a metro lake and were deep water trolling. While in 30 feet of water I was marking a lot of bait balls with some quite large arches showing up in feeding positions on the graph so I made sure I got our baits in the zone. A minute later, Tim’s rod bent quite rigorously (Medium heavy 7’ rod) in the holder. We knew something good was on. After quite a battle, we got her to the boat…..success in breaking Tim’s musky cherry. Only fish of the night, but worth it. The expression on his face was worth a million bucks. I told him it was because he donated a rod to the Fishing Gods last time we were out and was repaid handsomely. She was unhooked in the net and released back to the deeps in the proper manner. A memory that he will never forget.
