managed to get out in the metro for muskies. slept in the truck first night until i met jeff and he let me crash on his couch the second night. first day was pretty slow for me only got into a few pike. next morning i got woken up at 5am so i just toughed it out and woke up. between 6am and 6:30 am on monday i had a 50+ incher follow my hellhound in and 2 blowups on bucktails but no hooks in any of them. hit many spots mid day with no luck until my bud richie text me with a hot spot and boom i was hooked up shortly after with a 41.5inch ski on a walleye mag pro dog! first bulldog fish ever…maybe i should fish them more! haha fish was on the crown of a wind blown point with baitfish scattered all around the tip. fished the rest of the day with only 2 more follows. was out all day wednesday and no takers but had a few follows. thought it would be good fishing with the storm rollin in but not for us. other guys were seeing fish but not catching. this is my first fish of the year so hopefully i’ll have more fish/pics/reports to come.

ps. this fish hit the dog right when it smacked the water! then cleared water 3-4 times trying to spit hooks man was this fish energetic! does this happen a lot to other guys?? after that i tossed up some topwater figuring the fish were taking a hard look at stuff on the surface…

also thanks to the two guys from joes sporting goods that helped me take pics. us musky guys aren’t all so mean and bad after all haha

Had some guys at bald eagle that were fishing a different point work up behind us so no problem. then they proceded to pass us and start throwing into the same exact area me and a buddy were casting. to me that is just plain disrespectful and wrong. maybe its just me but if i can hit your boat with a 6 inch grandma your too close!!! this was on monday when there were probaly only 10 other boats on the lake fishing! go work a different spot and when i leave it you can come in!

gotta learn how 2 share spots bud! i’m not intimidated to go fish a spot some1 else is fishing i just make sure to get in behind them or not to cut them off and if we meet up i’m going to be casting where u were just casting. if u can show me your papers for ownership of the spot your welcome to prove it but unless that i’m gunna share your spot!
btw this wasn’t me….just saying if u fish enough this will happen a lot and u will learn that a little boat competition is nothing that scares off the fish. it isn’t trout fishing here…go up to red wing in march/april and u will learn a little about boat pressure.

sorry bout the rant but this is something i used to get upset about. btw bald eagle is 1 of the biggest amature lakes, more morons per square inch than most lakes. haha try lake johanna if u want no boat pressure in the metro
