I just purchased a 7’6″ heavy Cabelas Tourney Trail rod that i plan to use as a Muskie/Catfish rod, but I still need a reel and I’m not sure what would be a good multi-purpose reel? I”m looking to spend less than $100.

NOOOOOO!!!! don’t buy an abu!!! have stripped gears in many of the c3 reels would never buy 1 again and i have 3 broken now that i won’t even waste money to fix. i would recommend shimano cardiff 400 or 401a. great reel for $100 and will withstand anything. i throw huge bucktails and cranks with mine and havent had a problem for 2 years. would also recommend learning how to maintain your reel by keeping it clean.. it will make the reel last much much longer with more effortless casting and reeling. hope this helps and if u get an abu report back when it breaks…haha
