Just bought an Eskimo Sierra Thermal. Got a travel cover with it and will put Runners on it. Any suggestions on some other accessories? Light kits, Rod Holders etc etc. Eskimo doesn’t make a lot of add ons. Would some of the Clam stuff work??
I would get some light strips from E-Bay for sure there nice to have just flip a switch and you have light. I also use a red LED light for stealth mode at night so I can still see with out spooking fish. They make these clip on rod holders that have a goose neck to adjust the rod position when mounted to the houses poles. If you can dream it you can make it or find someone that did already.
Most of the accesories are pretty interchangeable clam, otter, frabill,etc. I would highly recommend the light kit from otter.
If this is your first hut I would suggest using it a couple of times before major mods. I man haul my flipover a lot so weight is a big consideration. Also what some guys really like may not be a big deal for you. Good luck!

Couldn’t agree more. I’d say lights is probably the first thing I would do. It gets dark sneaky quick and having lights makes life so much easier. I would also suggest the hangers for your coat because if you a decent heater in the insulated shacks, the coat usually isn’t needed. Having somewhere to hang it vs sitting in the cold tub possibly getting wet is nice.
I’m pretty excited to make my 1st Flip Shack exactly how I want it. I agree just taking it out a few times as is probably is a good idea. My list of upgrades is

#5 Rod Holders
I need to get a new Drill for my Strikemaster Lite Flite So these will all have to wait a bit.
