I’m looking at buying a hub house.

I would mostly be fishing b myself in it but once in a while I would have one other person with me.

Is a Quickfish 3 big enough for 2 guys including flashers and a couple buddy heaters?

Is the insulated model worth the extra money?

I have no experience with the Eskimo but a 3 man is gonna be small for 2 guys and the insulated it worth it on a cold day a small buddy will keep it nice in there.

I run a quickfish 3i and yes, it’s fine for 2 guys, and I’m a big guy at 6’2″ 250 lbs. Get the insulated one and only use one buddy heater (not a big buddy). You will be plenty hot to sweat if you run it on high and there’s certainly no need for multiple heaters. The insulated fabric, in my opinion, is of much better quality, offers huge heat savings benefits, and adds only a few lbs. It still clocks in at 39 lbs I think? It’s quickly becoming my favorite rig, beating out my ice runner and my otter cabin in terms of how often I use it.

The fatfish is wider on the footprint, but much shorter. I can stand in a quickfish which is important to me.

I ran a quickfish 3 for many years, plenty big for 2, can definitely squeeze 3 in if you need to. I upgraded to a fatfish 949i because of the extra space and insulation. the qf3 wasn’t bad but if it was a cold day and windy, it could get chilly no matter what heater you had in there.

I have a 3i, the old hex hub fatfish 6120i, and and am waiting on an outbreak 850xd to ship when it gets in stock. It really depends on your fishing style, the 3i I won’t fish 2 in, but I’m also 6’4, I use it early/late ice when I’m dragging, or if I’m just gonna be out a couple hours or want to move around a bit. All the gear stays outside except the necessities. The 6120 has been my all day sit, 2-3 guys, not moving around rig, I HAVE dragged it out, but prefer not. I ice camp in it, and have slept 2 on shore for spring opener. I think it’s the ideal size for 2, not on top of each other, can bring your gear in out of the cold, stand up if you need to stretch etc. I’m not sure they make it anymore so I think the 949i is the closest equivalent. The 850 is just because, the one flaw of the 6120 is the doors, and I think with the double dome it’ll be a nicer camping set up. I’m of the mindset bigger is better with hubs, you never REALLY want to move much once it’s up, if you did you’d have a flip over. Most folks I fish with do their moving outside, and use the hub as “base camp”, so why not make that base as comfortable as possible?

I have the QF3 I and it’s big enough for 2, but it really shines for just me, I bring everything inside. DK.

If they say it is a two man… its good for one person.

If it is a three person it is good for two…

You know where I am going on this.

I believe I was able to get by with a medium otter pro, when I first got the QF 3. It was stacked pretty high, but of course I was still dragging around a big propane auger at the time too, with a drill set up or hand auger you should be fine.
