Will the actual steel auger from a propane 10” Eskimo fit an E40? How about the blades.
Thinking about getting the E40 but have a perfect propane 10” Eskimo.

The E40 comes with a auger bit already, plastic so its lighter then your steel one. Your question then makes no sense why you want to use the steel bit.

Maybe wants to buy an 8″ E40 and have the 10″ option too. Makes sense to me

I have extensions, extra blades(new), etc. for the propane. The propane is quite heavy, so looking at e40 in 10” also. I’m also not sure of composite vs steel in heavy ice. I’m drilling through 24” now. 3 winters ago over 40”.
I also like the reverse on the e40.
Sometimes I fish up in Manitoba near The Pas. Ice very thick there.
    So looking at all options.

Get rid of that propane pig and go all composite. Then next year you can post on the “Best purchase I made thread”.

I would suggest sending a e-mail to Eskimo (Ardisam.com) and ask. They surely should respond with a accurate answer.

My thoughts are they should be interchangeable. Turning a 10″ steel through 40″ of ice you might be better using the ION Alpha Plus. They are made by the same company and the augers might be interchangeable. Once again it would be quite easy to confirm through Ardisam.com the parent company.

Good idea. Common sense always works. I just wrote them.
    Thank you.

Wrote Ardisam. Different sized shafts so tough to interchange. Will probably get a 10” composite. See how it performs and if satisfied sell propane.
