Recently purchased an Eskimo 450XD, and upon setting up the shelter I noticed the wall poles coming out of the wall hubs are not straight but “S” shaped. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, if it is normal or are the poles coming out of the hub too long? I’ve inserted pictures of the pole/hub assemblies from the inside of the shelter. I’ve inserted pictures below.

That looks like something was stitched in crooked. I picked up a 650XD this year, and while the poles didn’t sit perfect the first use they’ve settled into place after having it out a few times. Didn’t look anything like that, though.

I’d send the pictures to Eskimo and see what they have to say about it.

Picture 5 with the straight poles is how all sides and ceilings should look. I would recommend contacting eskimo.

Terrible quality control. I would be returning that

Use it a few times on windy days, see if your canvas stretches a little. My roof poles on my 450 look like some in your pics. I had one side look like that for a while end of last season but it’ straight now.

I would take at back. There’s a good deal on an Eskimo Exkape 2800 in the classified section.

when you set it up, did you set the ice anchors before you engaged the hubs?

Pop out walls im guessing. I had an otter snaked out like that and eventually they replaced it. My eskimo looks like pic 5 on all walls. Putting anchors in multiple corners of the skirt prior to set up seems to cause problems.

I think that’s normal. I have that same shelter and it does that too. It doesn’t affect the function or reliability of the shelter and my guess is that as the fabric stretches the poles will take a normal bend.

mine are all nice and straight on my clam also. the farbic is too tight for some reason causing the poles to not be able to extend all the way

Mass production tolerance failure to ensure 100 percent fit.

So what happens when you lay a bunch of materials and cut them all at the same time, there’s gonna be some deformity due to lack of accuracy. You can see it in some of the pilot holes for sewing and that’s off by a few millimeters.

Expecting the material to stretch to fit, eventually is a total excuse. It will never stretch to fit properly. It wasn’t cut to fit properly in the first place. I know if I wanted to make the fit proper, I would have to resewn the pole pockets and move them. Or if it really was the position of the hub point, yeah, unscrew it, burn a hole in the proper alignment and reassemble it.
