Some of my workers and I did a team-building exercise yesterday – we went to do one of those escape rooms that you might have heard about! We went to Escape MSP in St. Paul off of 7th and it was AWESOME!
The premise is that you are locked in a room with a couple of your friends (or coworkers) and your challenge is to find the clues you need to complete your mission and escape the room within 60 minutes. If you don’t make it out within 60 minutes you fail, and if you don’t complete the mission you fail. At this location there are several themed rooms to choose from. We did “Miss Treedeath” and the theme is that she is on trial for murder and our mission as rogue detectives is to rummage through her apartment to look for evidence that she will murder again and find out who, when, and where. We managed to find all the evidence we needed and we escaped with just 5 minutes to spare! It was fun trying to figure out what was evidence and what was just random stuff to ignore. There were items to rummage through – cabinets, dressers, a suitcase, a stack of books I paged through and found nothing – several keys to find, maps to decipher, magnets that were crucial to helping collect evidence, codes to open safes and doorways, and a fun wooden puzzle that I managed to franticly put together during our last 10 minutes in the room. I would absolutely recommend this as a fun activity for anyone!
