Pingdom is showing 8 minutes of downtime tonight. Linode is aware of the issue and looking into it. The Dallas data center is experiencing networking issues and their status shows degraded performance. (where we’re hosted)

The site’s servers are running just fine.

AH so that’s why posts were making my time clock to grind for a bit.

In part – also there’s a slew of crazy hoops a new post has to jump through in order to get stored in the database. That coupled with a dozen or so indexes on the database make new posts more taxing to accomplish. I’m working towards replacing the engine under the hood here so we can get some of the old site’s speed back. )

New engine – well separate engine for the forums/groups/members. The wordpress portion will remain in place for article/report publishing. The mess that is buddypress/bbpress plugins has to go.

The look/feel will remain the same when the new engine takes the place of buddypress/bbpress so nobody is disoriented with the change. )
