Sounds like quite a few people needed rescue services.
A satellite image from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows the crack in the ice on Lake Erie Sunday.

I saw an article that the ice was good between Put in Bay and Rattlesnake Island 10″ I never ice fished it but have fished during summer. Would not feel comfortable ice fishing in the big part of lake. I would think being in between the islands would be safer. Lots of fun but a long drive.

18 snowmobile riders rescued according to the article I read. Makes me a little skittish as I’m headed to Put in Bay Thursday for my 1st time. Going with a friend who has fished there several times over the last few years.
