I’ve never used either…but as you can tell by the price difference…they are not a Smooth Move.

I’ll see if I can track down Brett King. I know he has experience with both.

I’ve used both. Honestly, the smoothe move is really hard to beat, but also takes up more room, and weight differnce is quite a bit more. Smoothe move is an overall better ride, but shock master ride is way beyound your standard springfiled air ride pedestal.
I have had the shock master installed in driver side (my side) since beginning of last season, and although I can get 1 heck of a deal on the smoothe move, I have elcted to go with another shock master.

Good post guys I will put my .02 cents in. This would be my observations on the three styles in order of performance.Keep in mind I am alittle bias as the former owner/creator of Smooth Moves . The Smooth Moves unit is definatly the best as it is totly adjustable to your body weight and conditions you are faced with. You can`t have a really good suspension if it is not adjustable because we are all different in builds. With that being said the Smooth Moves does not fit every boat because it does need some room. Another plus is the fact that have proven to be almost indestuctable over the years with just a hand full of replaced springs. The ShockMaster unit I bought and tested I can honestly say I was dissapointed in the overall operation of the unit I was hoping it would work better (it kind of binds up)as I like the design and compactness of it but it has ni adjustment so its a universal one size fits all. I actually wanted to sell these along side of the Smooth Moves as they will fit some things that mine wouldn`t but I elected not to become a distributor after I ran the product so take that for what it worth. With that being said if my choice was an factory air ride or the Shock Master I would definatly buy the Shock Master.Save your money on the factoey air rides and out it towards one of the other two choices. Hope this helps I tried to be as honest as I could about it. One thing to keep in mind is the mounting system I developed for the Smooth Moves you can take them from boat to boat without altering the boat so they can be used for a long long time. How much is your back worth to you?

Smooth moves for me. I never owned the shockmaster but have road on them before. Even running in the ZX2050 Skeeter which was a great rough water boat I would be sore the next day on the standard air ride pedestals. The last 2 yrs I have had the Smooth Moves and no more sore back! Just ordered my new WX2100 and its getting Smooth Moves before it leaves the dealer.
