    Been thinking of checking out some tunnel boats and looking for your thoughts on them. Looking for maybe a used one if I decide on one . Thanks for all the help I can get.

    I have a couple of them – run them both with 4 stroke – prop motors and rock hopper guards.

    They are awesome in the Mississippi. The reason for the prop is that we use the tiller motor to hold position when we are fishing.

    Both of them have oversized 24 volt Trolling Motors on the front.

    Really nice for bouncing down the river – off the rocks

    I had one…awesome rig. I had a center console alumacraft 16 1/2 ‘ Jon model. Weight dispersion is key since you’ll be in skinny water…also float pods are a must!

    I sold quite a few Alumacraft tunnel jon boats. All the guys loved them. Note: the ones I sold took a long shaft motor. Be sure you check out transom height.
