    Apparently it is.
This is the reply i received from them. backup battery,if a guy doesn’t have enough stuff to haul!

HI there, I checked with the engineers, and they they agreed that 5-6 hours on a battery is normal for that machine.
Most folks go out with back up batteries, one of my friends actually brings a deep cycle from his boat!
    Thanks, and good luck!

Your stuff would be lighter if you didn’t take the camera either.

This doesn’t sound right. I’m not implying that you’re misleading anyone TTFish… maybe with the lights on the whole time(?)

Now I’m on a mission. I’ll report back in 5 or 6 hours on this.

absolutely no lights. fished during the day, clear water, none needed! there is an indicator light to tell you when they are on. the facts are as stated. Just received the reply today. If I did not like the camera, It would be problem solved!

I disagree with them also. In the manual they publish that the draw is “615 mA lights off 850 mA lights on “for the 825sd. That should calculate to at least 10 hours either way on a 9 ah battery!

    I turned mine on at 4:30 and it’s 10:50…

Working fine at 11.9v and still running.

    …and it’s bedtime.

    It’s inside warm and toasty.

I don’t think you can equate sitting on the kitchen table to sitting on the ice. The manual refers to a screen heater.
It also states up to 11 hours on a 9ah in ideal conditions.

What does your manual say the draw is for a 625sd? I’m guessing it is less than the 825. smaller screen to illuminate.
