Are there any options other than the Navionics chip?

I have the navionics chip but I borrowed the lake Master Wood/Rainy chip from a buddy when I went last year and all I can say is I will be picking one up this year. The detail and accuracy was fantastic. Pulled up on spots that looked good on the map and they were!

No. Not unless you run a Garmin unit, and then your options are very limited too, and probably not as good as the Navionics maps for CA. Lowrance has added the “Gold” mapping package to some of their new units for 2011, like the Elite-5 DSI Gold. Gold units include 125 Canadian lakes, preloaded. But as far as adding a map chip to a current Lowrance or Humminbird unit, Navionics CA is your only option unless you are just going to Rainy/LOTW.
