There have been a couple posts recently about ipads, android, etc. I have an iphone and an ipad and love them both. I purchased the Navionics app ($10, I think) and absolutely love it on both — if you turn the GPS on it’s practically like having a HB or Lowrance screen in your pocket. It might be slightly less accurate, but not by much and it does a great job overall. I especially like it for ice fishing because I don’t have to lug around my portable Lowrance unit. I highly recommend the app to anyone who has a compatable phone. Anyone else using it?

I have the navionics app for droid, love it. However I am a little bummed that when looking at the coordinates it only gives the minutes in hundreths not thousandths. such as 093.33.21 vs 093.33.121 so you might expierence some error in the “exact” location. I checked all throughout to maybe change this feature but have found nothing. Other than this minor flaw…..excellent fun app

Thanks for the heads up, going to give it a whirl on my Droid this week. Looking forward to testing it out!

Couldn’t agree more! This my second ice fishing season with it and it makes a world of difference. So easy to pull out and check as your walking along. It may not be as accurate as the other hand-held units but when you consider its just $10 vs having to buy a hand held plus a $100 chip its well worth it.
