What would you suggest for a mini laptop to use in the boat for mapping programs etc. Want to utilize the new lakemaster software now that I have it.Dell inspirion 1018 a good choice?

Panasonic toughbook, they aint cheap, but are almost indestructible. waterproof, drop proof, and almost run over with a truck proof. And the tablet style allows you to flip the screen to the outside, and they don’t take up any more room that a large screen fish finder.computing capacity is generally lower that a laptop, I run Fugawi and it does what I need.

I recently purchased a 13” Toshiba laptop for when I am traveling and moving around the house. I love the PC, but it’s shinny display does not like the outdoors – too many reflections and hard to see in the sun.

Whatever you get make sure it has a good return policy. My main concern would be seeing the display, especially in the sun with polarized sun glasses on. Let us know if you find something that works for you.

i could see this being a problem with any laptop but a solution would be to take some cardboard and make two bends where the top corners of the screen would be and tape it up you would have it shaded up
