Any idea what a 30 horse 4 stroke Johnson would go for? 2004. Electric start. No power tilt/trim. A buddy bought boat and motor. Isn’t going to use the motor so he will sell it to me for $1800 dollars…is that a good deal. Motor is in good condition.

yeah. It would be a better deal with the t&t. They are heavy.

That is exactly what I was thinking!! He just brought it over yesterday and I was amazed how big it was!! Don’t think $1800 dollars is a great deal anymore. Thanks for the replies.

It isn’t a bad deal. I watched a bunch of early 2000 25’s this summer for $2500 or so. It seemed like the going rate. I just don’t know how you would tilt the motor up while on the water if you had to. With a 80# motor that isn’t a problem but I bet that one is 200#. You could add a panther T&T later if you wanted to or needed to but it’s some $$.

I don’t know about Johnsons, but Suzuki are good motors and that’s what the Johnson is.

    I’ve seen ’04 Yamaha 25 4 stroke sell for $2200-2500.

    I’d say $1800 is a good price.

Electic start is great. It’s $1,000 to put it on my Yamaha 25 4Stroke, I passed on that addition. I don’t have T-N-T. Sure the motor is heavy, but it’s not a problem for me on my boat. It could be if you had to reach a long ways to pull the motor up?
