I have not heard that, I just saw a pic of one that was installed on a boat and it was mounted close to the outboard. They drilled four hole in the transom for mounting the Talon’s mounting bracket.

Talon comes with everything you need to install it directly to a flat transom – if you have a curved transom you will need to use an adapter bracket – they come in two configurations 1) mount between the motor and transom 2)Mount to the side of your motor jack plate.

No hydraulics, no pumps,just connect to power once you have it on the boat.
